HOTEL GROUP DINING GUIDE
Hotel group dining: connect the event journey without replacing the PMS
Hotels already have systems for rooms, reservations and event sales. Group dining creates a different operational problem after confirmation: organising the people who will actually attend the meal. That workflow can sit alongside the PMS rather than trying to replace it.
Keep systems responsible for the jobs they do best
The PMS or event-sales system should remain the source for the confirmed booking. The dining workflow should begin once the event needs final numbers, guest details, pre-orders, payments or seating.
Give each site an operational workspace
A hotel restaurant needs to see its own events, readiness and upcoming service. Operational users should not have to work through group-level dashboards to prepare tonight's dinner.
Keep group reporting separate
Head office needs comparisons rather than another operational task list. Revenue, events, covers, average event value, spend per head and readiness become useful when viewed by site and against the equivalent period last year.
Design the service output for the floor
Kitchen and front-of-house views should prioritise table, seat, guest, dish, modifier, dietary information, allergies and service notes. Commercial and customer-administration data should remain outside that operational view.
